Hector Sanchez wins it for Giants in ninth - McCovey Chronicles


Hector Sanchez's walk-off may have been the headline, but Brandon Crawford's defense cannot be buried in the lead. One thing about watching the Giants every day, you gain an appreciation for the defensive brilliance of Brandon Crawford. This one was ticketed, marked in the books as a single, until Crawford does his thing.

He just makes it look too easy and his ability to play defense reportedly helped Jake Dunning make the transition from collegiate SS to RHP. So the Giants pick up a pitching prospect as well.

Sanchez's walk-off HR. Classic Alert: The Washington Nats fan right behind home plate ( to the right) doing the belly-rub jinx right before the final pitch had to go home disappointed. So sad, wasting a good belly rub.

The next pitch was even higher. And we'll never know where it landed. It doesn't matter. A Giants game just ended, and you're thinking positive thoughts.
