Giants roll with “Young Beedah.” Select right-hander Tyler Beede from Vanderbilt – Giants Extra

I like the pick. I would have like a collegiate bat like Bradley ZImmer as well, but Beede is a potential top of the rotation type that the Giants couldn't pass up. Concerns about his command will allow him to fit right in with Crick, et al.  This is the second time Beede has been picked in the first round, having been picked 21st overall in 2011. He considers himself an accomplished rapper, so he would fit right in with the Giants somewhat eclectic clubhouse and dugout.

from Giants Extra:
Giants roll with “Young Beedah.” Select right-hander Tyler Beede from Vanderbilt – Giants Extra: "The rough 2013 season gave the Giants a high-ish draft pick, and naturally they used it on a pitcher. Tyler Beede is the selection. A right-hander from Vanderbilt, Beede was a first-round pick of the Blue Jays in 2011 but decided not to sign. Here’s a story on the new kid, with quotes from John Barr, including this: “He’s someone who, I hate to set timetables on, has a chance of moving quickly.”"
