Selig Settles HR King: 'Bonds Set the Record'

That should just about settle the argument once and for all.

from Bleacher Report:
Selig Settles HR King: 'Bonds Set the Record':

During a session with the local media, Selig was asked if he believes Barry Bonds is the true home run king over Hank Aaron.
Here is his response:
Barry Bonds set the record. That’s the way it is. One thing about commissioners, you get on that slippery slope when you start trying to change facts as they are. My friendship with Henry Aaron -- it is a very close, intimate friendship -- but it has nothing to do with that. Whatever the record books say is what it is.
Back in that period, people asked me to change this and change that, and you don't do that, because it really is a slippery slope. Once you do that, where do you start? Where do you stop? What are your criteria?
Bonds hit 762 home runs in his career, while Aaron slugged 755.
