Brandon Crawford and Joe Panik give San Francisco Giants MLB's best middle infield

I am glad to see people coming around to my way of thinking. It just makes the world a better, safer place. Don't you think? Now excuse me while I scurry around and find something else to complain about.

This season, the Giants have the third-best record in the NL and look poised to make another postseason run. But if your expectation was for Posey and Bumgarner to shoulder the burden of that success, then you'd only be half right. Posey and Bumgarner have both been good, but the top of the Giants' leaderboard in Wins Above Replacement (WAR) per FanGraphs has a couple of names that probably will surprise you.

Shortstop Brandon Crawford (2.5) and second baseman Joe Panik (2.4) are the team's two WAR leaders so far this season. Those totals not only put them atop the Giants' leaderboard, they put them atop the leaderboard of the best middle infields in baseball.
