I would guess Florida goes with Singer versus JU. If they don't, they could be surprised. JU can hit and they will have a contingent of support in nearby Gainesville.

USF takes an early loss versus OK State and now has to use McClanahan in a survival game versus Hartford.

Florida State's loss to Samford is the eye-opener of the first days results and immediately puts the Seminoles immediately on their back foot. They are at home, but this will test their pitching depth .

2018 NCAA Baseball Regionals: Day 1 Updates

Throughout the first day of the NCAA Regionals we will give an update for every team, and what will be next for the winners and losers of each game.
LAST UPDATE: 11:59 PM CT
All game times are central.
Gainesville Regional (DAY 1 COMPLETE): 
Florida – After a slow start the Gators rallied to take care of Columbia. Will play Jacksonville on Saturday at 6 pm. It's unclear if Kowar or Singer will start this game.
Jacksonville – Beat FAU 5-3 and play Florida at 6 on Saturday.
FAU – Lost to Jacksonville 5-3. WIll play Columbia at 12 on Saturday.
Columbia – They battled early against the overall number one seed, but ultimately lost to Florida. They'll face tFAU at 12 pm on Saturday.
Raleigh Regional (DAY 1 COMPLETE): 
NC State – The Wolfpack were upset at home 5-1. They'll have their ace ready to go tomorrow to try and avoid elimination against Army at 1.
Auburn – The Tigers dismantled Northeastern 13-4, led by Steven Williams. They'll have Casey Mize ready to go on Saturday against Army at 6.
Northeastern – Puts some runs up early but couldn't keep up with Auburn, losing 13-4. They'll play the loser of NC State-Arym at 1 pm on Saturday.
Army – Pulled off the upset over NC State 5-1 and will face Auburn at 6 on Saturday.
Lubbock Regional (DAY 1 COMPLETE): 
Texas Tech – Powered their way past New Mexico St 9-2. Will play Louisville at 7 pm on Saturday.
Louisville – Won 13-6. They'll play Texas Tech at 7 pm on Saturday.
Kent State – Lost 13-6. They'll play New Mexico State at 2 pm on Saturday.
New Mexico St – Lost 9-2 to Texas Tech and will most play Kent State at 2 on Saturday.
Athens Regional (DAY 1 COMPLETE): 
Georiga – Will play Campbell at 11 am on Saturday.
Duke – Lost 6-0 and will play the loser of UGA-Campbell at 3 on Saturday.
Troy – Beat Duke 6-0 and will play the winner of UGA-Campbell on Saturday at 7. They also lost their best pitcher, Andrew Crane, due to injury earlier in the game.
Campbell – Will play Georgia at 11 am on Saturday
Fayetteville Regional (DAY 1 COMPLETE): 
Arkansas – Beat Oral Roberts 10-2 and will play So Miss on Saturday at 7 pm. Arkansas will likely throw Kacey Murphy.
Southern Miss – Won 9-0. Nick Sandlin was brilliant. They'll play Arkansas at 7 on Saturday with Stevie Powers likely on the mound.
Dallas Baptist – Lost 9-0. They'll play Oral Roberts at 2 on Saturday.
Oral Roberts – Lost 10-2 to Arkansas and will play DBU at 2 pm on Saturday.
Greenville Regional (DAY 1 COMPLETE): 
East Carolina – Won 16-7. Will play South Carolina at 4 on Saturday.
South Carolina – Came from behind to beat Ohio State 8-3. Will most likely play ECU at 4 on Saturday and will likely have Cody Morris on the mound.
Ohio State – Had a 2-0 lead late, but couldn't hold on. They will most likely play UNCW at 11 am on Saturday.
UNCW – Lost 16-7. Will play Ohio State at 11 am on Saturday.
Austin Regional (DAY 1 COMPLETE): 
Texas – Won easily. Will play Texas A&M at 6 on Saturday and will most likely have Nolan Kingham on the mound.
Indiana – Fell behind early and couldn't recover against Texas A&M, losing 10-3. They'll play Texas Southern at 1:30 pm on Saturday and will likely have Pauly Milto on the mound to avoid elimination.
Texas A&M – Stayed hot and beat Indiana 10-3. They'll play  Texas at 6 pm on Saturday with Mitchell Kilkenny on the rubber.
Texas Southern – Lost 8-0 in the 5th. They'll play Indiana at 1:30 on Saturday.
Oxford Regional (DAY 1 COMPLETE): 
Ole Miss – Will play Saint Louis at 6 on Saturday.
Tennessee Tech – Will play Missouri State at 12 on Saturday.
Missouri State – Will play Tennessee Tech at 12 on Saturday.
Saint Louis – Will play Ole Miss at 6 on Saturday.
Stanford Regional: 
Stanford – Tied 3-3 going into extras. Winner will play Cal State Fullerton at 10 on Saturday, loser will play Baylor at 5. Stanford will have Kris Bubic on the mound.
Baylor – Lost 6-2 to Cal State Fullerton. Will play the loser of Stanford-Wright State at 5 on Saturday.
Cal State Fullerton – Beat Baylor 6-2 as Colton Eastman was dominate. They'll play winner of Stanford-Wright State at 10 on Saturday.
Wright State – Tied 3-3 going into extras. Winner will play Cal State Fullerton at 10 on Saturday, loser will play Baylor at 5.
Conway Regional (DAY 1 COMPLETE):
Coastal Carolina – Won 16-1 and will play Washington at 4 on Saturday
UConn – Lost 7-1 to Washington. Will play LIU Brooklyn at 11 am on Saturday.
Washington – Beat UConn 7-1. Will play Coastal Carolina at 4 on Saturday.
LIU Brooklyn – Lost to Coastal and will play UConn at 11 am on Saturday.
Clemson Regional (DAY 1 COMPLETE): 
Clemson – Got a walk-off win in the 10th. They'll play Vanderbilt at 6 on Saturday and will likely have Jake Higginbotham on the mound.
Vanderbilt – Behind a brilliant pitching effort by Drake Fellows, Vanderbilt beat St. John's 2-0 and will play Clemson at 6 on Saturday with Patrick Raby on the mound.
St. John's – Lost 2-0 to Vanderbilt and will play Morehead State on Saturday at 12.
Morehead State – Lost a tough game in extra innings. Will play St. John's at 12 on Saturday. It will be a quick turnaround for Morehead State.
Tallahassee Regional (DAY 1 COMPLETE): 
Florida State – Lost 7-6 to Samford. Cole Sands left this game in the 3rd with an injury. Will play Mississippi State on Saturday at 11 am with Drew Parish likely taking the mound.
Mississippi State – Lost a wild game to Oklahoma 20-10. They were leading 10-7 going into the 7th. Will play the loser of Florida State-Samford at 11 am on Saturday with Ethan Small starting.
Oklahoma – After blowing an early 5-0 lead, the Sooners ended up scoring 20 runs to beat Mississippi State and win 20-10. They'll play Samford at 4 on Saturday.
Samford – Maybe the upset of the day taking down Florida State 7-6 in Tallahassee. They'll face Oklahoma at 4 on Saturday.
Chapel Hill Regional (DAY 1 COMPLETE): 
North Carolina – Took care of business against NC A&T winning 11-0. They'll play Houston at 5 on Saturday with Gianluca Dalatri likely on the mound.
Purdue – Lost 9-1. Will play NC A&T at 12 on Saturday.
Houston – Won 9-1 and will play North Carolina at 5 on Saturday with Trey Cumbie likely getting the nod ont he mound.
NC A&T – Lost 11-0 to North Carolina and will play Purdue at 12 on Saturday.
Deland Regional (DAY 1 COMPLETE): 
Stetson – Won 8-3 over Hartford. Should have Logan Gilbert ready to go against Oklahoma State at 6 on Saturday.
South Florida – Left a ton of runners on base early and couldn't catch up to Oklahoma State as they lost 9-2. They'll play Hartford at 12 on Saturday and Shane McClanahan will be on the mound as the Bulls try and stay alive.
Oklahoma State – Impressive 9-2 win over South Florida. Will play Stetson at 6 on Saturday.
Hartford – Currently down 5-3 against Stetson in the 8th.
Minneapolis Regional (DAY 1 COMPLETE): 
Minnesota – Beat Canisius 10-1. WIll play UCLA at 7 on Saturday. Patrick Fredrickson will likely toe the rubber.
UCLA – Scored 4 runs in the bottom of the ninth to walk-off 6-5 over Gonzaga. Will most likely play Minnesota at 7 on Saturday. Ryan Garcia or Zach Pettway could start for the Bruins.
Gonzaga – Was beating UCLA almost the entire game before the Bruins walked it off. They'll try and bounce back against Canisius at 1 on Saturday.
Canisius – Lost 10-1. Will play Gonzaga at 1 on Saturday.
Corvallis Regional (DAY 1 COMPLETE):
Oregon State – Bryce Fehmel started on the mound for Oregon State as they won 9-3. Luke Heimlich will likely pitch against LSU on Saturday at 9.
LSU – Beat San Diego State 6-4 and will play Oregon State at 9 on Saturday with Zack Hess on the mound.
San Diego St – Lost a close 6-4 game to LSU and will play N'western St at 3 on Saturday.
Northwestern State – Lost 9-3, will play San Diego State at 3 on Saturday.
