Giants fade to the DL continues

So we trade off Tejada and Runzler for Beltran and Sergio Romo as far as the walking wounded go. The "healthy" players are not exactly pulling their weight and August is shaping up as a death march for the Giants season.

They are out of first place and solidly behind the D-Backs. Right now, the Braves look more likely to challenge the juggernaut Phillies than the Giant do. And worse, the D-Backs may appear better equipped. Sacré bleu!!!!

The team they would have to challenge for the wild-card is shellacking them on a nightly basis.

The Giants are losing personnel faster than the Obama Administration's economic team.

I can't wait for September. It's there we will see if this is just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic or planting the seeds for a late season, play-off run.

Delgado shines, Prado wins it in 11th for Braves - MLB - Yahoo! Sports:

"The Giants put two players on the disabled list before the game, then lost starting pitcher Jonathan Sanchez(notes) to a sprained ankle in the third. Four relievers combined to allow only six hits and one earned run in eight innings."

The Giants, mired in a skid that knocked them out of first place in the NL West, began the day putting outfielder Carlos Beltran(notes) and reliever Sergio Romo(notes) on the 15-day disabled list. Three other players were nursing less-serious ailments that kept them out of the lineup.
