They don't exist as a Giants AA affiliate anymore, but they did in 2009 when it seems like a young Madison Bumgarner was passing through. I only post this to demonstrate how difficult scouting must be with that "projection" business and all.
Looking at that baseball card, could anyone out there have dreamed that five years later this guy in the picture would do what he did and look like he does now. This might one of the biggest transformations since Clark Kent went into a phone booth.
And not that I thought about it that much but, why on earth did this fool change in a phone booth if he wanted to protect his cover as Clark Kent, mild mannered reporter? Weren't phone booths placed conspicuously in public places, with no curtains to maintain privacy?
Anyway, SCOUTING HARD. 20/20 hindsight to criticize scouts work, EASY!!
