Good news on Rays attendance: Up 30% in Spring Training. The Rays do have a new spring training home in Port Charlotte, which helps.

We hope that translates into the regular season. And it should. There are legitimate expectations to compete for the title right from the get-go. The Yankees and Red Sox are chasing the Rays for a change.
Other teams want to be like the Rays:

QUOTE FROM GIANTS GM BRIAN SABEAN:
"You have to balance the roster the best you can. You don't necessarily want younger players to come off the bench or platoon as much as a veteran. The basic model is to (orchestrate a youth movement) over time and have flexibility to have more longer-service contracts. You've still got to go the free-agent route and explore trades. You've still got to have a complement."
Its good times for Rays fans. If the Giants can't compete for the World Series this year, LOL!!! then count me on the Rays bandwagon.

CHUCKLE FOR THE DAY:
"According to the government, GM's Rick Wagoner was forced to resign because of poor performance. That’s embarrassing. You run an organization that loses billions of dollars and then get fired by a guy who heads up an organization that loses trillions of dollars." - Jay Leno
