Almost a perfect storm for this local product. Venditte is showing that a major league pitcher doing this this can be more than carnival side-show fare. This should really lift the draft prospects of Perez today.

We featured Ryan's exploits from the Cape Cod last year, where he made an impact.

Draft prospect Perez follows Venditte's path
6/6/2015 3:38 A.M. ET
Phil Rogers / MLB.comThe trail has been blazed. Pat Venditte, baseball's first truly ambidextrous Major League pitcher since Tony Mullane, who retired in 1894, joined the A's on Friday after eight seasons in the Minor Leagues. The wait for the next pitcher of this kind might not be nearly as long -- not if Ryan Perez can help it.

It looks like he has done nothing but elevate his prospects since then. This should help shine the light on other local prospects in the future.
